October Long Run - Surrey Hills
Details
This month’s long run will be an autumnal exploration of the Surrey Hills around Dorking. The route will be approximately 21km along a mixture of paved lanes, gravel and dirt trails.
As we will be in the North Downs there will fair bit of elevation. We will all run together, adjusting the pace to suit the group aiming for somewhere between 5:30 and 6:00/km.
We will set off from outside Dorking Main Railway Station at 10:00am. After the run we will go for food and drink at one of the historic pubs in the town centre before catching the train back to London.
Those travelling from central London should take the 09:02 train from Waterloo, which arrives in Dorking at 09:56. An Off-Peak Day Return should cost £12.70 (£8.45 with a railcard).
Please make sure you are comfortable with the distance and terrain as described above. We would recommend you try our shorter runs on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings, especially if you are relatively new to running. There will be no bag drop, so please bring everything you need in a small backpack including water and snacks. Please keep checking back for up to date details on this run and update your RSVP if you are no longer able to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
The provisional route here will be confirmed soon.
