Marathon Training Long Run (Multiple Distances)
Details
With several marathons and half-marathons coming up, we are hosting a distance training long run this month. This is a popular event which we have run for several years now. Whilst the main run will start at Broxbourne and finish in Hackney Wick, taking in the Lea Valley regional park, there will be additional pick-up points at Enfield Lock and Walthamstow Wetlands for those wishing to run shorter distances.
We will all run together, aiming for a pace of around 5:30mins/km, but adjusting to suit the group. Please familiarise yourself with the route map which can be found here.
There is no bag drop, please bring a small backpack with drinks, snacks and some warm/dry clothes for the end of the run.
Joining Instructions:
30km Start from Broxbourne Railway Station at 10:00am
From Central London catch the 09:23 train from Liverpool Street, which also calls at Tottenham Hale. Oyster/contactless is accepted for the full journey, so no need to buy tickets.
20km Start from Enfield Lock at 11:00am
The River Lee is a short walk east of Enfield Lock station. Wait by the river outside the Greyhound pub. Please aim to arrive 15 minutes early.
8km Start from Walthamstow Wetlands 12:15am
Wait outside the Engine House Visitor Centre. Please aim to arrive 15 minutes early.
Finishing Point:
Hackney Wick. We will most likely stop at Crate Brewery by the canal for beer and pizza.
