November Long Run - Epping Forest
Details
This month sees the return of the long run with an autumn favourite in Epping Forest!
The 21km loop will start and finish in Chingford heading out along the main forest tracks to the northern edge of the forest, before returning for a well earned pub lunch. The route will be along a mixture of paved lanes and gravel forest paths. There is a fair bit of elevation amounting to around 294m, and it may be wet and slighly muddy in a few places. We will all run together, adjusting the pace to suit the group around 5:30-6:00/km, stopping ocasionally as needed.
We will meet outside Chingford Station ready to set off at 10:00am. This is the final stop on the Weaver Line (London Overground) from Liverpool Street.
The provisional route map can be found here or on our Strava page.
Post-run food and drink: Either the Royal Forest Inn or Queen Elizabeth in Chingford.
Please make sure you are comfortable with this kind of distance and elevation. We would recommend you try our shorter runs on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings, especially if you are relatively new to running. There will be no bag drop, so please bring everything you need in a small backpack including water, snacks and extra layers.
Please keep checking back for up to date details on this run and update your RSVP if you are no longer able to attend. We look forward to seeing you there!
