The Josh Abbott Band will serve as grand marshal for the 134th Battle of Flowers parade - “Melodies in Bloom—A Texas Serenade” and the parade steps off at 0945, but we won't see them until 10-ish.
INFO: Since 1891, the Battle of Flowers Parade has been the pinnacle of San Antonio’s Fiesta celebration. It is where Fiesta began 134 years ago when a group of civic-minded women conceived the idea of a parade in front of The Alamo to honor the heroes that fought for Texas independence. A cornerstone of Fiesta events, the parade continues to be organized and produced by women, all volunteers, who honor the legacy of their forebears.
