About us
We live in a lonely era. The Pacific Northwest is known for introverts, the digital era has us isolated, and the pandemic shook up socializing. Join us to learn how to get the most out of the meetups we attend, and build our social endurance.
This meetup hosts structured classes to help build up your social skills in a safe, inclusive environment. We focus on the challenges people face going out, talking to new people, making friends, even dating. We address natural challenges we face, like social anxiety, social exhaustion and neurodiversity.
Our philosophy is that for many, socializing takes energy. We address socializing like exercise, because it can be simultaneously healthy yet tiring. By socially "working out," we can build our social experience, our social endurance, and work together to become more comfortable around people, while always respecting ourselves, our limits and our boundaries.
The structure of events will include introductions, one on one coaching, and three rounds of social interaction games designed to stretch and strengthen our social muscles.
This is an inclusive and safe space for everyone. We strictly expect attendees to be respectful of each others' diverse identities and personal boundaries. All activities are optional based on an attendee's comfort.
Host Jeremy Kayes (IronOhki) is an artist, event organizer and game designer. He originally began hosting meetup events to push himself socially, and is eager to share everything he's learned.
