What we’re about
We are a group of people with disabilities and their supporters who enjoy a team sport called Dragon Boating, which involves a people-powered canoe. Not only do we want to promote this sport as a way to get in shape, meet new people, and gain confidence for anyone facing physical, emotional, or sensory challenges. In addition our group also wants to race at the highest levels of competition.
In October, our team, Adaptive Fusion, will race at the US Dragon Boat Nationals in Sarasota, Florida. We will defend our three-time National Title.
Last year, we competed in the Club Crew World Dragon Boat Championships in Ravenna, Italy, where we took home a medal in each of the six divisions we raced in.
We welcome anyone who wants to come out and try this great sport. You can be at any level of fitness.
Currently, our members include people who are Amputees, have Anxiety, are Blind, Deaf, have other physical challenges, have PTSD, are Veterans, and people with no challenges (support paddlers).
