Dystopia Rising: Los Angeles (PSW) is part of a nationwide network of in-person and Virtual LARPs based 400+ years in the future. Each branch has its own local flavor, and L.A.’s goes hard with theirs. You play a zombie fungus-infested survivor who’s adapted to the worldwide Infection that ended the world, alongside others with similar geographic origins. Choose how the Infection molded your character’s ancestors and which unnatural abilities that granted you. Then spend the weekend online over voice, video, or text combatting the undead via vocally described hours-long adventures. Or roleplay with others, immersed in a shared DR: Live narrative.
DR: L.A. (PSW) was formed as a means of community, and the Dystopia Rising story (in its many incarnations) has been ongoing for decades. This brings it with it a lot of folx looking to teach others about the “living” world and make friends! As an extension of the nonprofit, Corrective Experience Entertainment, Virtual events also feature “post”-apoc skills workshops, teaching attendees how to survive The Fall (sponsored by the Port of Long Beach for over a year now!)
