Chew It. Gorge It. Walk It.
Details
The LDWA is a membership organisation. Walkers may attend up to three walks before they are expected to join.
A 50 mile circular walk from Chew Stoke, crossing the Mendip Hills (Yes there will be lumps).
We will head south Burrington Combe and Black Down before heading to Cheddar via the top of Cheddar Gorge. Taking in the edge of the hills we will descend Ebbor Gorge before our evening meal stop in Wells at 30 miles. (Variety of options but I expect most people will get themselves a meal at Spoons)
Leaving Wells via the Cathedral we will ascend up to the Mendip transmitter, and continue heading north over the Mendips. Prospect Stile will give us a bit more height gain than the average stile. Eventually returning via the flat of Chew Valley Lake to Chew Stoke.
If you need to bail out the most obvious option place to get transport back would be a taxi from Wells. This would also be an option for anyone looking at doing just the first 30 miles. (Let me know if you would like to do this and I can put people in contact)
