Interested in real time communication within a browser or your native app? Curious how Hangouts or SnapChat can achieve peer-to-peer communication? Join us on September 26th, 2018 as we dive into webRTC, an open framework for the web that enables Real Time Communications.
We'll be going through some simple projects together to illustrate how webRTC makes it possible to access a client's media devices from a browser and grant access to a UDP port in a safe manner even with firewalls and NATs in the way.
We will focus on peer-to-peer connections, and by the end of the night you will make a small video chat application using webRTC and socket.io. We will learn how to use STUN servers and Signaling servers. Make sure to bring a webcam!
This Meetup will be hosted by Tyler Schum and Rob Donigian.
Food and beverages will not be provided but there are plenty of great places to eat within walking distance. You are also welcome to bring food with you.
LaunchPad is located in downtown Huntington.
There is usually plenty of free parking in the rear parking lot as well as rear access to the building. Look for a glass door with the LaunchPad sign next to the Bon Bons Chocolatier and take the elevator up to the second floor.
If the front door is locked, please go to the rear door as it should always be unlocked. If you are still not able to get in, please call or text[masked].
We look forward to seeing you there!
