GatbsyJS - Getting Started (Part 1)

This month, we are going to explore Gatsby, a free and powerful open-source website framework built on top of React. We will talk about the key differences between SPAs (single page applications), and Gatsby-powered apps, as well as the host of benefits that come with Gatsby. Additionally, we will cover the basic building blocks of Gatsby that you will need to start building your blazing fast website.

Please feel free to bring your computers and code along with us. It is recommended that you have Node installed on your computer in advance.

In part 2 (October 2019), we will dive more deeply into Gatsby, including source plugins, transformer plugins, creating pages from data, and more.

JAM stacks (JavaScript, APIs, Markup) are all the rage these days and Gatsby is paving the way. If you have been interested in learning about Gatsby, this Meetup is for you. Hope to see you there!

Food and beverages will not be provided but there are plenty of great places to eat within walking distance. You are also welcome to bring food with you.
LaunchPad is located in downtown Huntington.

There is usually plenty of free parking in the rear parking lot as well as rear access to the building. Look for a glass door with the LaunchPad sign next to the Bon Bons Chocolatier and take the elevator up to the second floor.

If the front door is locked, please go to the rear door as it should always be unlocked. If you are still not able to get in, please call or text 631-432-4309.
