Let's build a website with GatsbyJS!

This month, we will continue our exploration of Gatsby by rewriting our very own https://www.lijs.org website using Gatsby and TypeScript.

We will be covering many aspects of Gatsby, including:

• Bootstrapping a Gatsby app from a starter
• Managing layout and SEO
• Styling with CSS-in-JS and theme management
• Sourcing data from the Meetup API with GraphQL
• Sourcing data from local filesystem with GraphQL
• Managing images with the gatsby-image library
• Deploying to production using Netlify
  (including the use of Netlify forms and continuous deployment with GitHub)

Don’t worry if you are not familiar with TypeScript. If you know JavaScript, then you should be able to recognize the majority of the code.

You are welcome to bring your laptop and follow along, however, we will be moving fairly quickly as this is an ambitious project for a three hour period. If we are unable to complete the project during this Meetup, we may extend it to the November Meetup as well.

Food and beverages will not be provided but there are plenty of great places to eat within walking distance. You are also welcome to bring food with you.
LaunchPad is located in downtown Huntington.

There is usually plenty of free parking in the rear parking lot as well as rear access to the building. Look for a glass door with the LaunchPad sign next to the Bon Bons Chocolatier and take the elevator up to the second floor.

If the front door is locked, please go to the rear door as it should always be unlocked. If you are still not able to get in, please call or text 631-432-4309.
