EDIT: Sunday Funday - Carter Lake Clockwise

EDIT: Good morning, all! For those awake right now, you may notice the roads in north Longmont are wet. It looks like we have some additional rain possible over the next hour as well as in Berthoud and around Carter Lake. With that in mind, today’s ride is a soft cancel—I won’t be there, but I’ll leave the route up should anyone want to still ride and reference that. This week's ride will take us to Carter Lake. We'll start from the shop, roll west through Hygiene via Mountain View, and head north along 75th. From the 66, we'll head further north to Woodland, up 83rd, and then take West County Road 8E to Carter. After regrouping at the top of the dam, we'll continue to North County Road 23, and then just come back the way we came.

This will be a largely Zone 2-3-ish ride. If you want to push the pace, the attack segment will be from the turnoff towards Carter to the top of the dam—a cool 4 miles to rev your engine. Although this not an intentional drop ride, please make sure you're prepared to take care of yourself if you do peel off (e.g., adequate nutrition, water, repair kits, etc.). There are bathrooms and water fountains at the Carter Marina.
