Future of the Future - From Speculation to Tomorrow, what is this group's goal?

Background
This group originated as a speculative futures meetup. It ended up in my hands as a Long Now Foundation local meetup - a group very much focused on the future, but also the past. I am a huge fan of Long Now from before I moved to Barcelona, but I already have another group with that name. There are people (myself included) who would like a professional networking group focused on strategic foresight, scenario building, and other ideas, data, and techniques we use in our companies and client projects (mine is https://www.futurity.systems/). And of course you can be a member of both.

Conversation
So, should we merge the groups? Should we make this one into something different, and if so, what? My passion and my profession is quantitative forecasting, so if others feel the same way, we could make this a more business-focused and technical group. What about you - your passions and professions, career and networking needs? Let's get together and form a future!
