Description:
Calling all adventurous souls! Get ready to embark on a last-minute hiking extravaganza in the north-east corner of the New Territories near the border! We'll be venturing through the ancient and slightly spooky Hakka village of Lai Chi Wo. This 19km hike will keep you on your toes for around 4.5 hours, but fear not, there's only one big climb to conquer. We'll start with a downhill stroll alongside a charming stream, passing by Sam A Chung and Sam A Tsuen. Then, we'll tackle the Lai Chi Wo Nature Trail, including a satisfying 80m climb to Fan Shui Au. After that, we'll explore the ghost town of Kuk Po and enjoy stunning views of Starling Inlet, right by the Chinese border. Our adventure concludes at Luk Keng, where triumph awaits! So lace up your boots and join us for an unforgettable hike. Let's go!

What to bring:

• 3-4 liters of water
• Snacks to eat along the way (sandwich, fruits, nuts, etc)
• Hiking shoes with good support
• Sunglasses
• Headgear (cap/hat)
• Sunscreen
• Bug Spray
• In case of Rain or Cooler Temps: plan accordingly

Toilets: Relief awaits at the trail's start and end with toilets. On-trail potty? Time to unleash your creativity and find inventive solutions. Happy hiking and problem-solving!

Stores: There are stores at the start and at the end of the trail. It is best to come prepared with food and water.

Meeting Point: Tai Po Market MTR - Exit B. Once everyone arrives, we'll take the 20R minibus from Tai Po Market Railway Station and get off at Wu Kau Tang. At the end of our hike, we'll take the 56K minibus to Fanling Railing Station.

Time: 9:30 am (SHARP!)

IMPORTANT: Out of respect to the members that arrive on time, we will only be able to wait a maximum of 5 minutes. Should you arrive after 9:35 am, I will no longer be answering phone calls or responding to messages as I need to give me time and attention to those that have arrived on time.
