Hike: Cheung Chau Island

Difficulty Level: 2 out of 5

Distance: 12 km

Time: 5 hours (approximate)

Description: If something special is what you are seeking, a visit to Cheung Chau Island is a must. Here's why: the island has NO vehicles, it has a pathway that is pretty much flat, the ocean is visible from almost every angle, there are temples with beautiful architectural features, it has a real pirates' cave, and there's even a rock carving dating back to the Bronze Age (2,000 to 700 BCE). Don't believe me. - come along and see for yourself.

Some highlights: Here are just a few of the many highlights we'll enjoy along the way: North Lookout Pavilion, Rock Carvings from the Bronze Age, Cheung Po Tsai Cave (pirate cave), Tin Hau Temple, Pak Tai Temple, Kwun Yan Beach, Windsurfing Center, and lots and lots of beaches.

Lunch: We’ll stop for lunch about halfway through the hike. There are 2–3 restaurants available where you can purchase food, but we’ll need to order and eat promptly so we can continue on schedule. You’re also very welcome to bring your own lunch if you prefer.
