What we’re about

Gloucester Book Club is a friendly, long‑running reading group for adults aged 25 and over. We meet several times a month, both in person and online, and everyone reads the same book before choosing whichever meeting time suits them best.
Our discussions are relaxed, welcoming, and open to readers from all backgrounds — whether you devour a book a week or you’re easing yourself back into reading.
How it works
• We choose one book for the month, mostly contemporary fiction but with 2 non-fiction a year
• You pick any meeting that fits your schedule
• Meetings run in person at Gloucester venues and online via Jitsi
• Jitsi is free, simple, and works in any browser — no account or download needed

Membership
To help keep the club running smoothly, we have a £20 annual subscription.
New members get a free first month, so you can try the group, join meetings, and see if it’s the right fit before committing.

Who can join
This group is for adults aged 25+. This helps keep discussions comfortable, balanced, and enjoyable for everyone.

Stay connected
We have a closed Facebook group for members to chat between meetings, share thoughts, and keep up with club news.
You can also follow us on Instagram for updates, book picks, and behind‑the‑scenes glimpses of club life.

Our podcast: Books & Chat
We also host the Books & Chat podcast, where we share book recommendations, member conversations, and Bitesize Book Bites. You’ll find it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other platforms.

A bit of history
Founded in 2013, Gloucester Book Club has grown into a warm, supportive community of readers who enjoy thoughtful conversation, good books, and a friendly atmosphere.
If you’re looking for a relaxed, welcoming book group with flexible meeting options, we’d love to have you join us.
