Metalcraft/Jewelry Shop Open Studio

Details

You are invited to come be creative at the Metalcraft and Jewelry Open Studio. This regularly held time each month on the first and second Saturday afternoons is perfect for exploring the shop, getting acquainted with others with similar interests, and asking questions.
If you are interested in attending please follow this link to register for the class, spots are first attended through registration, open spots are determined by availability. They are not guaranteed without RSVP. The link will take you to tinkermill.org's calendar page and directly to the booking page for the class. :)

Do you have a craft or piece of jewelry you'd like to make, but not sure how to begin?
Someone with experience will be around to help you get familiar with the tools available and how to use them while you are there.

This is very informal, just RSVP and come! More formal technique instruction and tool certification classes are scheduled on the calendar. Which are required to be able to use the shop independently.
This is NOT a class, it is an open studio.

Cost: TinkerMill members $10.00. $20.00 for non-members, payable here or in the shop upon arrival. Some materials are available for a small donation. Feel free to bring your own materials and or tools.

Our shop is dedicated to working with non-ferrous metals such as copper, brass, bronze, etc., or precious metals and to the fabrication of relatively small items. Here is a short list of both decorative and functional skills you can learn and do at our shop through scheduled classes:

• Wire work: braiding, wrapping, working with jewelry findings, and or beading

• Forming and shaping metal: jewelry, vessels, small home decor items

• Joining metal: soldering, cold connections such as rivets, hinges, latches

• Decorating metal: piercing, texturing, stamping, enameling, imprinting, coloring, etching

• Casting and sculpting, and more. (requires specific training and equipment)
