Welcome to the Look Up Stargazing Walk!

Look Up Ldn is a stargazing collective for POC and our allied friends.

Join us at Hampstead Heath for a for a walk across the heath to observe the constellations. We will be meeting at 9pm on 26/04/25 at Hampstead Heath Overground Station before making our way around the heath.

Whether you're a seasoned astronomer or just someone who appreciates the beauty of nature, this group is for everyone. This a space where POC & our allied friends get to reconnect with something greater than ourselves.

For safety, this event is only for adults 18+.

Need to knows:
● Bring binoculars if you have them.
● Dress warmer than you think! We will be standing still in cold conditions at times.
● Wear sturdy shoes for walking across grass and uneven paths.
● Ideally, bring a torch. Red light protects night vision, but don't worry too much about this. Avoid shining lights at others during star viewings.
● Bring a blanket if you'd like to lie down to stargaze.

FAQs:
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: Binoculars and a torch, if you have them. We will have some equipment to share, but bear in mind that this will be split among attendees. The terrain can be uneven and muddy, so we recommend sturdy footwear.

Q: Do I need to know anything about the stars?
A: No, Look Up Ldn is just about enjoying the sky. We are a new group, and many of our members haven't tried stargazing before.

Q: Can I come alone?
A: Yes! Look Up Ldn is the perfect place to make new friends, and many people come alone. We know that not everyone will have friends who are into the same hobbies, so this is the perfect space to find some!

Q: Can I bring friends?
A: Yes! Please do. We kindly ask that allies accompany a POC friend to maintain the balance of the group. Booking through MeetUp helps us manage expectations of how many people will attend, but it's fine if extras join on the day.
