This session we have 3 very interesting speakers lined up: Owner Data Visualization at Coolblue Björn Bolderdijk, Google Cloud Consultant at Stichting Laurens Bas Leenders & Business Intelligence Specialist at Sligro Wouter Mulders. See the program below:

Björn Bolderdijk, Coolblue - Switching from pretty pictures to actionable insights: our migration to Looker
When BI-tooling no longer holds any secrets for you, while at the same time having stakeholders complain that changes are not implemented soon enough, there's only one real solution to this: self-service analysis. This is Coolblue's story about why we decided to switch from Tableau to Looker.

In this talk, Björn Bolderdijk is going to explain what makes for a successful migration from one platform to another while at the same time share some learnings about why communication around a migration like this is key.

About the speaker
Björn Bolderdijk is the Owner Data Visualization at Coolblue. Data Visualization at Coolblue does not only entail Looker, but also what the best ways of visualizing data are within a company that is already very data driven. Björn focuses on adaptation of the tool and hosts training sessions focused on data democratization. With regards to Looker, he focuses on making sure the company is ready for all innovative tooling that is coming our way. He studied Social- & Organizational Psychology at Leiden University and started his data career with visualizing Recruitment & HR data.

Bas Leenders, Laurens - Looker layered access - unlocking data insights to (only) the right people
Most data is sensitive, especially when it contains confidential information about people (employees, customers, patients) or financial information. In healthcare it is usually a combination of both. Stichting Laurens is a leading healthcare provider for the elderly in the Rotterdam region, and one of the largest in the Netherlands. At Laurens we use Looker to serve the right, confidential information to the right people, within an organization of almost 6000 employees.

This talk will show how at Laurens the BI team (of 5-7 people) used different levels of access (Looker-wide, on dashboards, Explores, and data level) to make sure ±70 self-service users and >300 active viewers get the data they need, and are allowed to see.

About the speaker
Bas Leenders, an experienced freelance consultant, has worked with Laurens for 2.5 years. With his academic background in cognitive psychology, he focuses on data-driven human and organizational needs. His 14+ years of experience in the Google Cloud ecosystem brings a deep and wide knowledge of the latest data analytics tools.

Wouter Mulders, Sligro - Looker Project Structure: From chaos to order! How to organize your LookML project using layering and folder structure.
Keeping your Looker project ordered and structured can be a challenging task. It often starts with a single model and a few views, where everything seems fine. However, with multiple enthusiastic developers, projects can grow very quickly. Before you know it, your project contains dozens of views, explores, and models. Chaos lurks; how can we prevent this?

Fortunately, there are ways to avoid these issues. In this talk, Wouter Mulders will explain how implementing layering and a constantly optimized project structure can provide you with a robust and durable project. By doing so, you can reduce or prevent many foreseeable problems, ensuring a more organized and efficient development process, and keeping your developers relaxed and happy.

About the speaker
Wouter Mulders is a Business Intelligence Specialist at Sligro Food Group, a large Dutch publicly traded company that needs to catch up on several years of Data & Analytics development. With his passion for driving change within the business and his specialization in Supply Chain, Wouter leverages data to create valuable business insights that drive continuous improvement in the complex supply chain of Sligro Food Group.
