Training at the Park

Details
Are you tired of your dog taking you for a walk instead of the other way around? Transform tug-of-war walks into peaceful adventures at our weekly event, “Training at the Park,” hosted by Pragmatik Canines.
This session is perfect for anyone struggling with loose-leash walking or looking for an enjoyable way to socialize their dog. Whether your pup lunges at squirrels, pulls toward other dogs, or hasn’t mastered polite walking by your side, this event is here to help!
Event Details
- When: Sunday at 10 AM (Please arrive early for sign-in; we begin promptly at 10 AM.)
- Where: The field next to Phoenix Dog Park
- Hosts: David Crawford & Joey Hannan
- Contact: 916-284-1717 (Call if you need assistance finding us.)
What to Bring
- Your Dog: Naturally! Please bring only one dog per guest, as learning new skills can be challenging enough. Working with two dogs at once can make the training experience unmanageable.
- Collar or Lead: A well-fitted flat collar, slip lead, martingale, or prong collar (we can provide one if needed). Harnesses are suitable for already trained dogs but not recommended for teaching leash pressure.
- Water: Stay hydrated during the hour-long class.
- An Open Mind: Be ready to learn, grow, and strengthen your bond with your pup.
Cost
- Free: We want this training to be accessible to everyone! While there is no charge to attend, a $10-$20 donation would be greatly appreciated to help support the time and effort put into running these sessions. However, donations are completely optional—come train with us regardless!
Health Requirements
Please ensure your dog is up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed or neutered for the safety of all participants.
Important Note
If your dog has reactivity issues, please inform us in advance so we can ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone. During the session, remember to give plenty of space to other dogs and their owners—space is a form of respect in the dog world.
Disclaimer
While we strive to create a safe learning environment, we are not liable for injuries resulting from misinformation or negligence.
Let’s build better walks, stronger relationships, and unlock your dog’s true potential—one paw at a time.
We’re excited to meet you and your furry friends!
See you at the park!
Warm regards,
