Join our free, weekly neighborhood needlecraft funshop. Learn to knit, crochet, embroider, or bring your ongoing needlecraft project from home. You don't knit or crochet? Than make a felt jacket brooch of your own design or from one of our books; you choose the color of felt, floss, and sequins from our curated collection of materials. It's not work, but fun. That's why we call them funshops instead of workshops.
Research shows that needlecrafts benefit us socially because we can converse while using hand-and-eye coordination to manipulate soft yards and threads. Also, because handling colorful materials pleases the eye, needlecrafting addresses the very human need for creativity missing in our electronic world of screens and apps. Finally, the term "Loose Threads" describes both a needlework project in need of attention, and the various and lively aspects of an ongoing conversation.
Adults only; no experience necessary. Drop-in; no advanced registration necessary.
