About us
The Los Altos Spiritual Books Meetup aims to read books with a contrarian perspective on the good life. While mainstream Silicon Valley tends toward techno-utopianism - the belief that advances in technology are the best means to furthering human flourishing - we’ll read and discuss books with a different, more spiritual, perspective.
The meetups will be led by Greg Feirman, Registered Investment Advisor & BA/MA Philosophy, but my role will be primarily to introduce some of the themes introduced by the book under discussion and facilitate vigorous discussion and debate. It will not be a long lecture.
Everyone is encouraged to read the book carefully and come prepared to contribute their own thoughts and perspective. Hopefully, by engaging with contrarian ideas and each other, we can expand our perspectives and deepen our lives.
