What we’re about
Looking for a fun, social, and active way to spend your Saturdays? Join us for Los Angeles Beach Volleyball Open Play! This is an “open” Meetup Group for Los Angeles Beach Volleyball (LABV). It is completely free to join and play (lust like LABV), and ample free parking is available near the beach (assuming you arrive before 10am).
We welcome players of all levels—whether you’re brand new to the game or have been playing for years.
Our format is twofold:
- 4-on-4 beach volleyball for beginners and intermediate players, which keeps things moving, makes the game accessible for beginners, and still gives more experienced players plenty of action.
- For more experienced players, we have doubles courts for 2-on-2 play.
We play every Saturday year-round, so it’s a great way to meet new people, improve your skills, and enjoy the sand and sunshine. The focus is on having fun, being active, and creating a friendly community around the game.
Bring your sunscreen, water, and good vibes—we’ll provide the balls, nets, music and the fun!

"BLUE COURTS" - All-Levels Fours:
Join us for a fun-filled day of beach volleyball every Saturday (year-round) for open play Pickup Games in Playa del Rey! For intermediate players or even athletic beginners looking to learn, this event is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a great workout while soaking up the sun and making new friends. Our friendly and welcoming group provides a supportive environment for players of all skill levels to come together and enjoy four-on-four volleyball on a beautiful beach with everything provided. Just bring a beach towel, your sunscreen and some water and we provide all the equipment, balls and setup. And best of all, everything is free with no fees whatsoever! Even parking on the street and in the two adjacent lots in the area is free (although it gets much harder to find spots after about 10am). Note that this event is cross promoted on several apps / platforms, so we always have a consistent group of 20+ attendees every Saturday.
So even if you are still using your volleyball "training wheels", we provide a place for you at Los Angeles Beach Volleyball Open Play Saturdays!

Weather Cancelations:
If there is a threat of bad weather on our game day, be sure to check here at meetup.com before you leave to come to the beach. We will always update the meetup event on Saturday morning around 7:30am if the event is canceled. If there is no update stating that the Saturday game is canceled, then we are still playing.
Remember we usually will play unless:
- It is really COLD (temps 50 degrees or below at any time 8am-2pm)
- It is really WINDY (wind predicted to be above 15mph any time 8am-2pm)
