Should we Avoid People with Anti-Social Personality Disorder (Sociopaths)?
Details
March's topic will be conducted by Bro. Kevin Watson as he asks the question, "Should we Avoid People with Anti-Social Personality Disorder (Sociopaths)?"
Synopsis:
Freemasonry is highly selective on admitting people to its membership. It does not accept candidates who are joining for personal gain or prestige or who have no interest in leading a virtuous life. A candidate must be joining because he or she is truly desirous to grow in self-knowledge and thereby be of service to humanity. Unfortunately, an individual with anti-social personality disorder (fka sociopath) does not qualify for membership. This presentation will define sociopathy, quantify its prevalence in society, demonstrate how to identify a sociopath and finally, how best to handle life situations with sociopaths.
Mission Statement:
The Masonic Philosophical Society embraces the concept of learning, not for school, but for life, and believes that all men, who seek it, deserve access to continued education. We further embrace the concept of a community environment where ideas can be shared and debated in an open forum. From the seven liberal arts to the arcane, we seek to gain and share the knowledge that is the legacy of mankind.
