Anthony Grimes will describe laser, a new alternative to Enlive that strives to have a smaller, simpler code base that makes use of cutting edge libraries and technologies. This talk will explain why Anthony built laser instead of just using Enlive, how it works, and how to use it for HTML templating and screen scraping. We'll end with a short walkthrough of some real code making use of it in refheap.
Anthony is a Clojure programmer who started Clojuring when he was around 15 years old. He grew up in a very small town in Alabama called Eldridge (population 130 or so) and is a recent transplant to Los Angeles. He is the author of http://tryclj.com (http://tryclj.com/), the popular Clojure-based pastebin https://www.refheap.com (https://www.refheap.com/), and numerous other Clojure projects which you can find on his Github page https://github.com/Raynes or flatland http://github.com/flatland . He works on backend stuff at MyHeritage USA (who recently acquired Geni) for the http://geni.com (http://geni.com/) genealogy website. He does not like telephones.
