X-Post from LA Haskell: Intro to Haskell, Part 2

Details
We aren't having a Clojure meetup in September, but Factual is again providing the venue for an LA Haskell Users Group meetup. Please be sure to RSVP on the Haskell meetup page and not here.
https://www.meetup.com/Los-Angeles-Haskell-User-Group/events/137210462/
This is the second in a series of beginner-level talks on common Haskell libraries and tools.
Phil will give a demonstration of using monad transformers to build a text adventure DSL.

Parking and Directions:
We're in the Gateway West building, next to the Westfield Century City mall on the east side. It's the only building with big red "Westfield" signs on top.
We don't recommend parking in our building, as it is quite expensive. The best place for attendees to park is at the Westfield Century City Mall. Please note that they no longer offer free parking for the first 3 hours. Parking rates are as follows:
0 to 3 hours: $1.00 per hour
3 to 5 hours: $1.00 every 15 minutes
5 hours or more: $24.00
Daily maximum: $24.00
