🗣️Presentation 1 Details:
Presentation Description: Data products, like every product, need a go-to-market (GTM) strategy. Without one, your customers (stakeholders) won't understand how your products will benefit them. I'll explain why I think a GTM strategy is the solution to many of the challenges data teams face in 2023. I'll use our data team's GTM strategy at HourWork as an example.
Speaker Bio: Zack Ober is the Analytics Lead at Hourwork. He joined the data team at HourWork almost 1 year ago to build a modern data stack and develop a data culture. Zack is interested in helping people outside of the data profession understand how to use data for their benefit. He occasionally writes about this on his substack, Occam's Data.
🗣️Presentation 2 Details:
Presentation Description: When building dbt models, manual testing is still the most common way to check whether a change to your code had any unintended effects on the data. This process can slow down development and make you less likely to make changes in the future. Join us to learn how open-source data-diff can automate these tests, helping you develop quickly and confidently.
Speaker Bio: Kyle McNair is a data engineer at Datafold, and sits on the Product Experience team, with a focus on internal analytics. As a data practitioner at a data company, he partners with engineering, product, and support to help Datafold deliver data quality solutions to users.Outside of work, Kyle prefers to be outside, very far from a keyboard, responsibly imbibing UV radiation.
