What we’re about

"The true steps from barbarism to culture, which consists in the social worth of man...gradually develop all talents, and taste is refined...which can in time convert the coarse, natural disposition for moral discrimination...thereby [changing] a society of men driven together by their natural feelings into a moral whole." -Immanuel Kant, Fourth Thesis Idea for a Universal History from a Cosmopolitan Point of View

Welcome to Fine Arts & Culture with A Dilettante! My name is Joseph A Hazani, A Dilettante. I have been experiencing Los Angeles Fine Art Gallery and contemporary theatre openings since late 2015, writing reviews of the openings on my blog (adilettante.com). We are truly privileged to have access to so many art shows in Los Angeles; I now welcome those of you interested in experiencing novel beauty in a fun conversational setting to join me as we partake in the finer things in life 2x a month.

In addition to Fine Arts (experienced both in art galleries and new museum openings), we will be enjoying the Performing Arts with the expectation of a theatre show 1x a month.

There are additional cultural treats we will be exploring when they occur incidental to this high cultural regime, such as live musical performances (Think Hotel Cafe, The Mint, &c) or film (Think Nuart, Beverly Cinema, &c).

I look forward to experiencing the humanities with all of you, see you soon!

Warm Regards,

Joseph A Hazani
