What we’re about
This group will meet once a month for the experience of Forest Bathing. This has been a common practice in Japan for centuries. It is not bathing in the traditional sense. There is no water involved and everyone is Fully Clothed. Modern science has studied the effects of spending time in Nature this way, among trees in particular, and finds it has a wide range of health benefits. It is particularly beneficial for people in densely urban areas and for those who work indoors. The goal is to come into the senses, be present, absorb the nutrients of the forest, discharge surplus energy, balance mind and body through contact with Nature.
What to bring: some drinking water, sunscreen, whatever helps you be safe and comfortable outside.
What not to bring: please no alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, or recreational drugs of any kind. Cell phones will put into silent (no vibration) airplane mode.
*Disclaimer 1: This is NOT a nudist activity. All participants should dress appropriately for being outdoors in Nature. Anyone fully disrobing will be asked to leave. Closed toe shoes are a must (no flip flops).
**Disclaimer 2: Los Angeles is full of beautiful wilderness areas. Our Meetup locations will vary. All wild spaces have inherent dangers. We need to be mindful of things like poison oak, ticks, rattlesnakes, uneven walking surfaces, dehydration, and sunburn. Everyone who joins us does so at their own risk. This is a voluntary meetup. Catherine Inglese is not responsible for any theft, injury, or death that could occur during a Forest Bathing meetup.
