Upgrading HBase by Vaibhav Puranik of GumGum(Tech Talk and Tech Stations)

This meetup is different from our others in that even though we have a presentation, we will also have different stations talking about using and installing HBase. This is a great meetup if you like to learn on how to use and setup HBase, even if you are a newcomer or advanced, in a production environment.

Vaibhav Puranik is in charge of big data technologies at GumGum. He has successfully implemented HBase, Hadoop, Elastic Search, Storm, and Kafka to capture advertising performance and web contextual data. Before GumGum he led engineering teams at LowerMyBills.com and Johnson Space Center, Houston.

Upgrading HBase
Vaibhav will discuss his recent experience at GumGum upgrading HBase from version 0.90.5 to Cloudera CDH4. He will describe the process followed, challenges faced, and lessons learned.
