Get High On Rex's New Trail!

I happened to look at a real estate website a few weeks back and saw this 21 acre property was for sale and it was a bargain. So I bought it!

It comes with a trail from the floor of the valley at Santa Susana Pass State Historic Park up to the Sedona-like rocks at the 120-acre Mount Rexmore preserve, which I bought in 2013.

Mount Rexmore is home to at least 40 types of native flowers, trees and sagebrush, plus deer, bobcats, lizards, hawks, rattlesnakes and Mountain lions. (For more info and photos etc: see [

DISTANCE: 4 miles. Difficulty: moderate. Hike is all on trails and monkeying around on the nearby rocks is optional. Elevation gain: 800 feet to paved Mesa Drive. Depending on how energetic we feel, we can go up another 300 feet to the summit, or take Mesa/Lilac lane 1 mile north to the Lilac Lane trailhead at the Stagecoach trail, and drop down the hill there back to our cars and skateboards.

WARNING: THIS IS A GUITAR HIKE!

THE USUAL STUFF: BRING ALL THE USUAL STUFF...I'M NOT YOUR MOM.... Bring clothing (sorry, nude hikes are a different Meetup group), 3 liters of water, hat, comfy shoes, snacks, guitar, all your troubles..., camera, etc
