Los Angeles Medicare Coffee & Q&A is a friendly, casual Meetup for people who want to better understand Medicare, ask questions, and learn about their options over a cup of coffee.

Whether you're already on Medicare, approaching age 65, helping a parent or family member, or simply trying to understand how Medicare works, you're welcome to join us.

Our conversations may cover topics such as:

• Medicare Open Enrollment and when you can make changes
• Reviewing your current Medicare coverage
• Understanding Medicare Advantage and Medicare Supplement options
• Prescription drug coverage
• What to know when you're approaching age 65
• Medicare Parts A, B, C and D
• Enrollment periods and important deadlines
• Doctors, prescriptions, networks and other coverage considerations
• Changes to Medicare plans from year to year
• General Medicare questions you've been wanting to ask

### What are the meetings like?

Think coffee and conversation, not a classroom.

We meet casually once or twice a month at local coffee shops and other comfortable locations around Los Angeles.

Bring your questions. There is no expectation that you already understand Medicare, and there is no such thing as a “basic” Medicare question.

Some meetings may have a short educational topic to get the conversation started, followed by open Q&A.

### Who should join?

This group may be especially helpful if you:

• Already have Medicare and want to better understand your coverage
• Want to review your Medicare options during Open Enrollment
• Are approaching age 65 and Medicare eligibility
• Recently retired or are preparing to retire
• Have questions about Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement or prescription drug coverage
• Help a spouse, parent or family member with Medicare decisions
• Simply want a better understanding of how Medicare works

### Your host

The group is hosted by a licensed insurance professional who works with Medicare plans and can help explain Medicare concepts and answer general questions in plain English.

The goal of the Meetup is simple:

Learn. Ask questions. Understand your options.

If your situation requires a more detailed individual review, you can choose to arrange a separate private conversation outside of the Meetup.

There is no obligation to enroll in a plan to participate in the group.
