Trauma Bonding + Q&A
Hosted by Cycle Breaker Support Group
Details
During this meeting we'll discuss trauma bonding, which is a topic suggested by one of our group members. We'll also have space for a question and answer session with that questions, with questions that related to childhood trauma
A trauma bond is an attachment that develops from a cycle of physical and/or emotional trauma followed by positive reinforcement. Trauma bonding commonly develops in romantic relationships and can have its roots in insecure attachment relationships with our caregivers.
The seven stages of trauma bonding:
- Love Bombing.
- Trust & Dependency.
- Criticism.
- Manipulation & Gaslighting.
- Resignation & Giving Up.
- Loss of Self. .
- Addiction to the Cycle.
Please message me with your questions by Thursday, July 27th. Questions will be read and answered in the meeting. You can choose to be anonymous. Answers to questions will NOT be answered in private messages.
*Note: This is the last event before the dissolution of the Cycle Breakers Support group. Upon realizing that many members of the group are survivors of childhood trauma and/or narcissistic abuse and may have different levels of comfort in sharing and different needs (some members are here for community, connection, conversation, while others feel more comfortable listening/observing), I'll be starting future groups with these needs in mind.
Following the meeting, I will provide you with a list of free resources for continued support on your healing journey.
