Hello everyone,
Our 5th meetup has a new format, we are going to try something a little different this month to debate around trading strategy.
As always it will be lead and conducted by Josh Lampel, Futures and Forex Broker at Arrowfield Trading.
Strategy sessions: The process behind placing a trade and managing the position
Here everyone will have the chance to detail the inputs that go into placing a trade and how they manage the position once in the trade.
Attendees will have the chance to speak for 5-10 minutes, using Arrowfield’s facilities (i.e. laptop, plasma or white board) to highlight their trading process and we can go over the various factors, be it technical, fundamental, positioning, risk and money management, or all of these inputs that go into placing a trade.
The rest of the group will be given the opportunity to ask questions around what they hear. With such varied levels of experience, trading styles and personalities the idea is not to embarrass, but to work together and leverage off what works for others and how we all ultimately can become better and more successful traders.
About Josh Lampel
Josh Lampel is a principal and series 3 (futures) and (forex) broker with Arrowfield Trading (http://www.arrowfieldtrading.com/)
He holds a BS in Accounting from Virginia Tech (2001). Introduced to forex trading in 2007, he became a broker in 2009 and started Arrowfield Trading in 2011. Arrowfield Trading is an IIB (independent introducing broker) based in Los Angeles, CA registered with the NFA, currently representing 2 FCM’s and 4 FDM’s and is focused on customer service and a personal broker relationship.
Los Angeles Meetup Educational Proposal:
- Attendees brief introduction (5 to 10 minutes)
- Key Speech by an advanced member of the group or a guest speaker (30 minutes)
- Q&A (20 minutes)
- The group moves to a pub/bar nearby to keep talking about FX, make friends and enjoy a round of beers on the house :)
