What we’re about

We are resuming face to face meetups.

Musicians of any skill level getting together for the joy of making music.  We are instrumentalists and vocalists, beginner to experienced, looking to make live music with others.  We plan on having at least one meetup jam per month.  However, there is room for much more. Any member can help create new musical experiences by hosting a jam, making suggestions, contacting members to arrange practice sessions, or coming up with ideas not mentioned here.
Our typical meetup is in a private home with about a dozen musicians.  We use acoustic instruments almost exclusively with occasional exceptions for very quiet instruments like a bass guitar.  We sit in a circle and take turns selecting a song.  The song can be anything. We've done popular sing alongs, little known songs, jazz numbers, old folk, bluegrass, rock and roll, original compositions, and foreign language songs. The person who selects the song is the "musical director" for that song. He/she can specify how they want the group to treat the song. Some people don't bring written music, some bring paper copies to share, some email their music files to me for display on the big screen TV.  When that song is finished the turn moves on to the next person in rotation.  If there is to be a break for eating and socializing that will be included in the description.
Announcements will go out by email when a jam is scheduled.  If you successfully sign up for a jam but later you find out that you cannot attend, please go to the website to change your status to "not going".  That will trigger the meetup software to notify the next person on the waiting list that they are in.
