We’re reading The Stranger, Camus’ spare and unsettling novel about detachment, consequence, and what it means to live in a world that does not explain itself.

Its clarity is deceptive. The questions it leaves behind are not.

We discuss the whole book. Yes, even the last page.

The meeting will last one hour. Afterward, you’re welcome to stay and continue the conversation.

We’ll be inside. Look for a small “Los Osos Book Club” sign on the table. Please plan to purchase a drink while you’re there. Outside food and drink should be avoided in accordance with their posted policy.

The group is intentionally small so conversation stays thoughtful and everyone has room to participate.
