What we’re about
Interested in learning how to defend yourself? Come join us for instruction in Krav Maga, a self-defense technique modeled after real-world scenarios which blends methods from disciplines like aikido, boxing, judo and karate.
The classes are held each Thursday evening from 6 to 7:15 pm in Los Osos, at the Aikido Central Coast dojo. We are a fun, focused group and are eager to expand our class! Beginners of all ages are welcome, no prior experience in martial arts or self-defense is required. Our instructors will tailor the lessons according to experience and abilities.
The cost for the classes are $20 each, or $60 monthly.
About the Instructor:
Michele Simone, 1st degree black belt in Krav Maga and 5th degree black belt in Aikido, has worked with hundreds of people from a diversity of ages, abilities, genders, backgrounds, and occupations to access their body's intelligence—teaching skills in boundary setting, de-escalation, and effective and appropriate responses to violence.
In 1987, Michele started her personal journey in self-defense in the local Model Mugging program and became an instructor teaching for over 10 years in that program. To deepen her understanding of self-defense, Michele has studied Bang Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in addition to Krav Maga.
Michele believes the martial arts have the potential to facilitate confidence-building, recovery from past adversity, and provide the ability to relax and enjoy life more fully.
Michele works as a somatic psychotherapist and trauma-informed consultant in our community.
