LADA Book Club: Girl, Woman, Other, by Bernadine Evaristo

I've wanted to read this book since I heard about it winning The Booker Prize last year (co-won, with Margaret Atwood). It's been Book of the Year by several publishing companies and and on a few favorites lists that I admire, including Pres Obama's. "A must-read about modern Britain and womanhood . . . An impressive, fierce novel about the lives of black British families, their struggles, pains, laughter, longings and loves . . . Her style is passionate, razor-sharp, brimming with energy and humor. There is never a single moment of dullness in this book and the pace does not allow you to turn away from its momentum."--Booker Prize Judges Link is to Bookshop, the indy book version of Amazon. Available in audio as well https://bookshop.org/books/girl-woman-other-a-novel-booker-prize-winner/9780802156983 Zoom details will be posted here closer to the date. In case the meeting link asks you for a password, it's just "lada"

LADA Book Club South: Dune, by Frank Herbert

Online event

TENTATIVE DATE! This is a heads up that we plan to have a Dune bookclub around the time of the film's release which is still currently set for Dec 18th, 2020. Who knows what the future will bring during these times, but whether or not the film will still be released, the book is a doozy, so start reading....! https://www.amazon.com/Dune-Frank-Herbert-ebook/dp/B00B7NPRY8/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
