Add some spice to your Memorial Day Weekend with Conjunto Oye! LA's favorite salsa band opens the popular Latin Sounds series at LACMA. Began in 2004 by bandleader Adam Rundquist, Conjunto Oye! continues to play a great variety of salsa styles, making them one of the hot bands on the salsa scene today. The unique sound of Conjunto Oye! is created by five horns that comprise rich five-part harmonies that result in a symphonic texture. Lead vocalist Roosevelt Cordova is known as “El Presidente of Salsa” and adds to the band’s appeal.
PICNIC POTLUCK MEET & GREET
The best part of attending a concert in the park is the picnic. This is where you'll make new friends and say "Hi" to old ones. A great way to meet someone is to offer them something! So... bring something to share! Either some wine or some finger eats such as charcuterie, salumi, cheeses, fresh produce such as grapes, dried fruits such as dates or nuts, olives, bread--foods that are easy to eat without utensils. No chips. And water! Bring a hat, sunscreen, light jacket, water gun, beach ball. Bring a lawn or folding chair, like this cool UCLA chair. If you sit on a blanket you will not be able to see.
