The Director - Vandana Kohli
Vandana Kohli is a filmmaker, musician & writer with an interest in the human mind, metaphysics & behaviour. An alumna of FTII & UCLA, her films have included projects on Anger, Biotechnology, Women, Major Depression, Music, Crime, Biographies & Indian Law, amongst others.

She writes a weekly column “Mindscape”, for the e-edition of The Week on mind-brain-psyche & appears on television for debates & discussions on gender & governance. Vandana has served on the Jury for non-feature films for the National Awards, 2015 & has written her first feature film script. The script was part of NFDC’s Screenwriter’s International Lab, 2014.

THE SUBTEXT OF ANGER:
An essay in film. It explores the emotion, expression & root causes that drive us to anger. World-renowned professors of Psychology, Sociology & Neurology from the US, UK & India, along with voices from amongst us, examine the cause & impact of anger in these times of pressure & speed. Anger is addictive & can become neurologically chronic, under exposure to constant stress in our daily lives.

The film delves deep into the psyche & emotions of its subjects & attempts to understand why we may be experiencing such disproportionate outbursts of anger. In this context, the film is a comment on the times we live in.

The screening will be followed by a discussion & Q&A session with Vandana Kohli herself!
