NEW WALK - The Lost London of Stunning Islington and delightful Canonbury

Hi all, £9 cost & info below, please join everyone for a NEW WALK never been operated at the weekend, it's fun, healthy, scenic, choice of a 2.5 mile, 4 mile or 6 mile walk with some brief local info along the way while meeting new friends!

Please note this Islington Walk is 'Going East' and is completely different to the advertised Islington 'Going West'. Highlights on this walk stunning lost areas of Islington and Canonbury (Keira Knightley lives in Canonbury, beautiful historic lost area), the only home near the heart of London that was built in the Tudor period, remains of the New River, a stretch of water that winds its way around homes which was once part of the New River, an artificial waterway that supplied London clean water from Hertfordshire in the early 17th century, the remains of some Banksy artwork.

Where Joe Orton lived and died, taxidermist with stuffed bears, tortoises and penguins, walk along the canal, a wonderful giant rock garden, where Hugh Grant poured out his heart to Angie McDowell in the pouring rain in 'Four Weddings and a Funeral', recording studio where The Clash Album London Calling, the Sex Pistols - 'God Save the Queen', 'Anarchy in the UK', Queen - 'We Will Rock You' Pretenders 'Brass in Pocket' and 'I Go To Sleep' , and most importantly where the Wombles recorded 'Remember You're A Womble'

Includes 30-mins stop for snacks and toilets at 4 mile and a brief toilet stop at 3 miles.

2.5 mile ends at Highbury and Islington Underground Station (Victoria Line (Please note: Hugh Grant, studio and New River not on this walk)

4 mile ends at Canonbury Overground Station (Please note: New River is not included in this walk)

6 mile ends back at Angel, Islington Undeground Station

Please meet outside near the front of Angel Underground Station (In the tiny square where Natwest Bank is, immediately in front when you exit the station. Follow signs for 'Camden Passage' and 'Antique Market' and as soon as you leave the station, we are in front of you.

ABOUT OUR SECRET LONDON WALKS
It is a 15-year fascinating journey together to explore the whole of beautiful, enchanting Secret London. The only walking group in the World offering this unique experience!

The individual walks have been created from an original route several miles in length (usually on average about 25 miles) where we have checked every nook and cranny, every hidden alleyway, lane, lost cobbled path, cul de sac, avenue, road or street in that area for you! It is then shortened, to give back to you a magical walk with all the best bits of 'Lovely London', voted the best City in the World for the 10th year running!

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PLEASE ensure ARRIVAL at least 15 minutes BEFORE the start of the walk, sorry no latecomers are accepted for whatever reason.

Members attend the unique walks from our different meetup groups.

IF LATE, SORRY WE ARE UNABLE TO RECEIVE CALLS OR ANSWER EMAILS AS WELCOMING MEMBERS, LEADING THE WALK, AND CONCENTRATING ON THE SAFETY OF THE GROUP. PLEASE DO NOT BE LATE, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CATCH THE GROUP UP, PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY TO AVOID DISAPPOINTMENT.

Part Tour - Medium pace walk from 'Visit England' Award-Winning Guide and our group featured in the National Press! Please Note: Some events, being a large attended meetup group will be an organised walk only, but members are very welcome to organise their own get-togethers after the event.

You are required to be fit and healthy with appropriate footwear & clothing, responsible for meeting at the correct location, own safety and to not lose the group by viewing the organiser/making the organiser aware as much as possible, or follow/not lose sight of the person(s) from the same walk in front. We advise carrying water and some snacks.

The organiser is also not responsible for any circumstances that may affect the group or personally such as personal accidents, rail information, engineering works, cancellations, rail strikes or delays, heavy traffic, tours affected, weather, walk paths or routes closed, postcodes for car parks or for when we arrive back at the station, or anything else not mentioned!
