Medicine Buddha Sand Mandala Creation

Details

The Tashi Kyil monks will be working on the Medicine Buddha Sand Mandala throughout these four days. The public is welcome to stop by and watch it unfold as they create an intricate and colorful sand mandala, a symbol of impermanence and a beautiful spiritual practice.

About Sand Mandalas

“Mandala” is a Sanskrit word, meaning “world in harmony.” A Tibetan mandala is a sand-painting and an ancient form of art in Tibetan Buddhism.

There are many different mandalas, each one showing different lessons and blessings.

The Medicine Buddha Mandala recognizes the common goal of compassion among all spiritual traditions and philosophies in the response to suffering.

Saturday & Sunday Offerings

During the weekend there will be additional offerings from the monks, including children's activities (1-3pm).

A full schedule for the weekend is available on our website.

This event is free!

Any donations offered or merchandise purchases will support the Tashi Kyil Monastery.
