August LPAM: Wading into Neural Networks with Keras

Details
Please join us for our August meetup.
Chip Lynch will provide an introduction to neural networks using Keras, a popular Python library. (Chip says this gives him an excuse to learn about it.)
His talk will cover the basics of what neural networks are and generally how they are used in predictive analytics, how to train them, and how to make use of pre-trained networks. He will explore some specific examples with code of neural nets to do image classification and language generation. We'll end with a short Q&A session.
Neural networks are a quickly expanding field of study in machine learning. Based loosely on the structure of animal or human brains, these models use computers to combine layers (networks) of "perceptrons" - simulations of neurons and the connections between them - to "learn" to solve complex problems. Neural Networks have driven breakthrough results in computer vision, speech processing, and language translation, among other areas.

As usual we will have some O'Reilly swag to give away for those in attendance. If there are any questions or topics that you are interested in discussing at the meetup, we'd also love to hear from you.
We'd love to see you there!
