June Science Cafe - Dr. Robert Korn and "It’s Hard to Be a Good Skeptic"

Details
The Presentation
Join us for June Science Cafe - Dr. Robert Korn and "It’s Hard to Be a Good Skeptic" - While a skeptic has a number of good tools to work with, there is also an equal number of difficulties. These challenges range from outright deception (as in much advertising) to innocent beliefs. A pure skeptic would go mad in this culture, as all information is biased to some extent.
The Guest Speaker
Dr. Korn received his doctorate from Indiana University in genetics and a post-doc at MIT in molecular biology. He has given seminars at Harvard in hierarchial theory and at Yale on his thesis and at a number of other universities (two at UofL). He is presently retired from teaching at Bellarmine but continues to do research on computer graphics in plant development.
