Monon South Trail Borden to New Pekin

This is a 20 to 25-mile round-trip ride on the first long segment of the Monon South Trail. We’ll ride through Borden Indiana north to New Pekin then back. The trail is mostly crushed and packed stone - a surprisingly comfortable ride - with paved segments in the two towns.
For maximum mileage, we’ll start at 9:30 at the gravel parking lot just inside Deam Lake state recreation area, about 5 miles south of Borden. Entrance fee is $7 for a Hoosier car, $9 for others. Free parking is available at or near the Borden Town Hall, 129 West Street. Riders coming from Deam Lake will connect with any riders in town at about 10 am. After the ride, we can stop for lunch on the way home at The Chicken House 7180 County Road 111 Sellersburg (On Grant Line Road north of New Albany).
