The Artist’s Way — Month 1 (Week 1) Check-In
Details
## The Artist’s Way — Month 1 (Week 1) Check-In
This is a year-long creative recovery journey designed for people with full lives.
Instead of completing The Artist’s Way in 12 intense weeks, we stretch each week across a full month so the practices can actually be lived — not rushed.
Month 1 is about safety.
About beginning gently.
About noticing what happens when you simply show up.
This is not about producing art.
It’s about reconnecting with your inner voice without pressure, performance, or perfection.
## This Space Is For You If:
- You felt creatively blocked, numb, or disconnected
- You’re burned out or stuck in survival mode
- You struggle with perfectionism
- You’re moving through grief or transition
- You want structure that feels supportive — not demanding
- You want community without being forced to perform
You do not need to be an artist.
You do not need to be “good” at anything.
You do not need to be consistent to belong here.
This is about showing up as you are — not fixing yourself.
## Why We’re Doing This Slowly
The original 12-week format can feel overwhelming alongside work, caregiving, stress, or burnout.
By giving each week a full month, we:
- Reduce pressure and perfectionism
- Allow real emotional integration
- Build consistency without intensity
- Make creativity sustainable instead of performative
## How This Journey Works
- Each “week” of the book becomes a 30-day focus
- Daily prompts are optional (5–15 minutes)
- Morning Pages are private and never shared
- You don’t need to look ahead
- You don’t need to catch up
You can join at any time.
Everyone begins with Week 1 if its your first time joining.
## What We’ll Do at the Month 1 Check-In
- Reflect on how Month 1 (Week 1) felt in real life
- Talk about what supported you — and what didn’t
- Normalize resistance, inconsistency, and emotional reactions
- Share insights only if you want to (listening counts)
- Gently close out Week 1 and prepare to move into the next month
You do not need to have completed every task.
You do not need to share your Morning Pages.
There is no catching up and no falling behind.
## Important Notes
This is a live, discussion-based gathering.
Sessions are not recorded to protect privacy.
If you miss a meeting, simply join the next one.
Sharing is welcome but never required.
Listening with presence and respect is just as valuable as speaking.
We learn through community — not performance.
This is a come-as-you-are space.
We’re really glad you’re here. 💛
