In this series we will be learning about Nonviolent Communication which is a method for communicating in an empathetic and constructive way. The techniques taught by the author, Marshall Rosenberg, allows for peaceful conflict resolution and improved relationships with the other people in your life. Nonviolent communication is a way of talking and listening that focuses on understanding your own underlying needs as well as the needs of others and communicating to build understanding and empathy. Since this is not a communication style that most of us are familiar with, we will include some time to practice nonviolent communication in the group once we have covered the first few chapters and understand the foundation of the techniques. If you miss one or more sessions, you are welcome to join at any point, however I recommend reading the chapters that you missed to get a full understanding of the concepts we are covering.

### Book Summary:
Book Summary - Nonviolent Communication (Marshall Rosenberg)

About the Love and Light Book Club: We take a slower approach to reading books. Instead of reading a whole book in a month, we break the book down into several pre-defined selections which allows us to take a deeper dive into the subject and discuss what we have read over several months. We also read more than one book per month which helps us synthesize different books on similar topics. Primarily, we focus on growth and development books, but we are open to different genres if there is a group interest.

Disclaimers: I am not a teacher, therapist, or the author of this book. I am an avid reader hoping to connect with other like-minded individuals that are focused on becoming the best version of themselves through intentional self-care.
