All player skill levels and all types of acoustic instruments are welcome. Whether you already have playing skills, OR you just bought your guitar and want to get better, this is the place to be. Perhaps you just want to sing along and have others play, then that’s great, too! We have a Cajon and a wonderful electric keyboard, if that’s your choice. Although mostly acoustic guitars, but welcome Mandolins, Bass, Fiddles, etc. Any genre of music is welcome: blues, folk, rock, songwriter, new, old, etc. We use "Ultimate Guitar", if we need to look up and project songs on a big screen TV. That program also lets us transpose keys on the fly. You are welcome to bring your own refreshments of choice.
The Goal:
Have fun, learn, share and have a new song or two to take home.
Create a supportive environment to learn, participate and enjoy playing with others.
Picking the tune choice goes around the circle and each person can choose one to lead. It is completely acceptable to say you are new to jamming and would like to pass, but if you do want to contribute a song, you will be expected to lead it. Keep your choice straightforward, with no more than three or four predictable chords, so that others can easily follow along.
If needed, songs can be projected on a big screen TV for everyone to see and follow along.
The only faux pas you can make is derailing the jam, perhaps by playing very loudly, out of time, and out of tune.
