What we're about

Have you ever wanted to meet like-minded folks who share similar politics/values, to just hang out and chill with? Whether you’re new to the Bay Area, in transition, or call it home here, this group is for folks who are aligned with intersectional feminist values and are looking to make new friends. The space is also specifically for twenty-somethings to get together, explore, and support one another through a stage of life that can be both exciting and scary. The overall intention of this group is to connect on a deeper level and provide a safe & supportive space to be our full low-key selves.

Join the FB group to introduce ourselves and get to know each other! https://www.facebook.com/groups/491097564973216/

Some activity/hang out ideas -

- side/creative project work sessions

- attend workshops, panels, events, readings, lectures

- watch both indie and mainstream movies

- explore food in the area (in a budget-friendly way)

- cooking, picnics, and potlucks

- hiking, beach, & other outdoor things

- attend local music/art/performance shows

- chill by the lake

- and any other low-key activities!

The FB group will make it easier for anyone to propose meetup ideas and to message each other, and will provide the ability to create a space within a space for those with common interests. I will also personally be sharing events I learn about in the FB group.

*Keep in mind that “intersectionality” was coined by Kimberle Crenshaw, a black woman. Give credit where credit is due. This group aims to be inclusive and is anti-racist/classist/sexist/homophobic/transphobic/ableist and so on. This is a space welcoming to all QTPOC, WOC, and those who identify with being intersectional feminists.

**The group intended to be for those in Oakland/Berkeley/SF but anyone in the Bay Area is welcome to join!

Eat Real Fest - Jack London Square, Oakland

Jack London Square

Hello all! Interested in hanging out with your fellow low-key intersectional feminist buddies? (Maybe we should shorten that to LIFBs or something...) Love food or just want an excuse to eat? Let's get to know each other at the Eat Real Fest (street food festival at Jack London Square in Oakland) on Saturday, 9/21! I'm planning to chill there for a few hours (probs 12-3ish), and we'll try to snag a spot to sit where we can congregate (probs in the plaza area between Lungomare and Scott's). Check out Eat Real Fest's webpage at eatrealfest.com or their Instagram at @eatrealfest -- the latter option is great to see the food that'll be sold :))))
