The Friendly Infidels Movie Club: Friendship

Details
Come see the new film Friendship with your non-religious friends from the Secular Humanists of the Lowcountry (SHL)! We are going to the 11 am showing at Citadel Mall Stadium 16 Theater.
Friendship is a dark comedy starring Tim Robinson as Craig Waterman, a socially awkward suburban dad, and Paul Rudd as Austin Carmichael, his charismatic new neighbor. The film explores the complexities of adult male friendships, highlighting themes of loneliness and emotional repression. As Craig becomes increasingly obsessed with forming a bond with Austin, his attempts lead to uncomfortable and humorous situations that threaten to unravel both their lives. Premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024, Friendship received critical acclaim for its poignant satire and standout performances.
You can use the link below to purchase tickets. Tickets are assigned seating, and Tucker and Charles have purchased seats E5 and E6. Sit wherever you like, but we encourage you to check the comments below to see which seats your SHL friends have purchased, and buy seats next to them, in front of them, behind them, near them… then post your seat choice in the comments below.
After the movie those who wish will be going to the lunch buffet at Taste of India, located at 1280 Sam Rittenberg Blvd in West Ashley, for drinks, food and to discuss the film. If you don't want to attend the showing, feel free to join us to discuss the film afterwards. We should get there a little before 1 pm, depending on the number of commercials and previews. If you want to reach out to me ahead of time, I'd be happy to text you when we leave the theater. Please just let me know so I can try to get a big enough table.

Movie Selection:
The SHL Movie club normally meets on the first Sunday of the month. Films are usually chosen by a ranked choice vote. An email with the voting link is sent to the movie club mailing list about 10 days before the film. If you are not on the movie club mailing list, but would like to vote on future film selections email [shl@lowcountryhumanists.com](mailto:shl@lowcountryhumanists.com) and ask to be added to the list.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, SHL has funds available to ensure everyone feels welcome and able to participate. If the cost of participation presents a challenge, please email us at shl@lowcountryhumanists.org, and we can discreetly arrange to cover your costs.
